Red is such a powerful color. It shows so many emotions and is used often to highlight such things.

Red can symbolize romance, passion, and love. It is so intense because it is also the color of our blood. Red roses are a favorite among lovers and anyone can see why.

Red also is a sign of warning. This color is often used to warn people of impending danger. We seem to see the color red immediately and will pay attention to whatever is written in this color.

With these meanings it is easy to see why red is a great color to use with our vinyl lettering in your home. Sometimes the bathrooms of our homes and offices get left out when time to redecorate. This is actually a great place to put our wall words. Here are some ideas for quick decor for the privacy of your bathroom:

The Color Blue

Blue...what a great color to decorate with. We have more things in blue shades than any other. There is cobalt blue, aqua blue, denim blue, turquoise blue, and on and on. So why so many blues? Blue is one of the most popular colors in our culture. It is very calming while reminding us of sky and water. It is so soothing that blue makes a great color for bedrooms (to help you sleep). However it is not recommended for kitchens as it supposedly decreases appetites.

So what can you do with blue with our vinyl...anything. There are so many shades of aqua that you can create a gorgeous watery scene that shows all of the waves and unrest of an ocean or lake. Then there is the sky. Using the rich cobalt blues will give illusion of an evening sky scene that will take your breath away. The great thing about the aquas is that you can blend them with blues and greens to give your vinyl lettering some movement. The cobalts blend very well with purples for a majestic tone. While the denim blues move towards gray so they can be used together to give some umph to your gray wall words.

Take this wall monogram for instance. You can do the Nicholls Family in Traffic Blue then do the large N in Violet to create the sense of royalty.

Or try the Nicholls Family in Light Blue and the N in Mint. This will give an illusion of a watery scene.

Here is a quick idea of how to really spruce up a room...do a border using our vinyl lettering. This is much better than a wallpaper border because once it is easy to remove when you are ready to redecorate.

If you have never been to the Fonts and Colors section of our site, then you are missing out on some great info. Here we have listed all of the wall word fonts and vinyl colors that we offer. You can see it all in one glance.

Nothing frustrates me more than to have to actually click on a font then let it load before I can actually see what it will look like. We offer 75 different styles of font for your wall quotes. Sometimes just glancing at the font types will give you some creativity. You might see Chocolate Box and realize that font would look great in your kitchen or that Alpha Smoke would be so cool in your child's bedroom.

We currently offer 35 shades of vinyl. We have all of these shown on the Fonts and Colors page and have tried to make them as true to the correct color as possible. Please keep in mind that all monitors are different. What you are seeing is probably different from what we see on our monitor. So some color variation may occur.

Vinyl Graphics and Trade Shows

If your business sets up displays at trade shows, then you must read this post. When you are trying to sell your business and its wares at a trade show, you must repeatedly display your business name, brand names, and logos throughout your booth.

Start this off by having several of your company logos recreated using our vinyl decals in appropriate sizes for your booth. You will need to install these wherever you see a blank space in your booth. The backs of your display cabinets are ideal. The tops of all your counters need to have your logo. The more you display this image, the more it will stick in a person's mind.

To help promote the brand names that you are selling, have these created with our vinyl lettering. They don't have to be made very large. You only need them big enough that a potential client will notice the brand name when they walk up to this product on display in your booth. They need to automatically know what brand you are selling.

If you want to give credit to someone for their work on your trade show displays (like artwork done, installation completed, etc) have a small acrylic plaque created with silver lettering with their name. You can then place this small plaque next to the artwork.

Valentine's Day is a little over 2 weeks away. It is time to dress your home and office up with hearts and love.

Super Bowl Vinyl Graphics

The Super Bowl is coming up and along with that are the Super Bowl parties. Support your favorite team with wall decals. You can have the name of your team created in a stern font such as Paterdoster or have it done in the same font that the team sports on their uniforms. Also select the team's colors for your vinyl lettering. Have a football and helmet created in vinyl to hang with your team's name.

Take the team name and football stuff and install this in various places of the party. The front door is the best place as this will greet your visitors. The wall behind the TV is a great as well as any other blank wall in your party room. The table that holds all of that yummy Super Bowl food needs some vinyl decals too. You can have a large team name created for the centerpiece and then smaller footballs to place around the food bowls.

We talked about how you can use monograms to make your wedding and reception more elegant and the envy of all brides. There is so much more you can use vinyl lettering for when it comes to decorating for your wedding.

Every wedding has some sort of theme whether it be based on the music chosen or the love words spoken by the bride and groom. Take that theme and place it into wall words. Using your wedding colors and a really nice font have us make this phrase for you in vinyl. This can be installed above the door that all of your guests will come through. It can also be used on the wall directly behind the person performing the ceremony. Your friends and family will think you took hours to paint this on!

Most love birds have little quotes that they say to each other often such as "I love you Snookums" or "Our love is forever". At the reception, you could have one wall full of these quotes. Choose various fonts and colors and create your own word collage.

I talked the other day about how you can use our vinyl monograms to jazz up your wedding. Our wall words can be used in most applications so let's talk wall monograms for your home.

Everyone has that large space on some wall that you can't figure out what to put. One of the best, easiest, and least expensive decor items would be vinyl lettering. This is your home so personalize it with your monogram. You can choose the color of font that goes best with your room color. Since our lettering is removable, if you change room decor the wall decal can be changed too. So no need to worry about anything being too permanent.

With all of the choices we offer in font style, you can really create an amazing wall monogram to suit your space. If you have more of an elegant room then choose something in a script font. For that funky space of whispy colors and mismatched furnishings choose some wild like the Curlz font or Peeps font. For that stoic space, like your office, choose the Stonehenge. New Year's Eve Party Ideas

With 2009 almost here, it is time to start planning that infamous New Year's Eve party. There are many ways to decorate your home for the big bash using our vinyl lettering.

Start off by getting a large "Happy New Year" done in an etched look with silver font. This can be installed on your glass front door. This is an excellent way to welcome your guests.

Application Tips

Now that you have chosen a neat quote that you want to apply to your wall, it is time to do the install. This is really quite simple with a couple of tips.

First, you really do need to use a level. Eyeballing it will not get it correctly placed on the wall. Just pick your spot then lightly draw a pencil line so you know where to start the placement. The pencil will come off of the wall easily.

Second, if the quote is large, cut it into manageable pieces (be careful not to cut the actual vinyl, only the paper). Don't try to install a 5 foot long quote all at once. It is just too much to handle and you will end up getting it crooked.

Third, use that old credit card/gift card to rub the lettering while still between the two sheets of paper. This will make it so much easier to remove the first paper backing from the sticky side of the vinyl. After placing the lettering on the wall, use that credit card again to push out air bubbles by rubbing the paper backing. This also helps the vinyl somewhat release from the paper.

Fourth, don't be in a hurry. Take your time, this is going to be seen by lots of people and you want it to look great.
